Measure P.D. (pupil distance)
P.D. = PUPIL DISTANCE This is required so that the centre of the lens is in line with the centre of your eye which will give you optimum vision in your prescription glasses. Most adult PD’s are between 60-65mm the average being 63mm. To get your pupil distance measurement you need to either ask your optician at the time of your eye test, do it yourself by using a mirror or ask a friend to help you. To obtain P.D. Measurement Take a mm. rule and place it over the bridge of your nose with the 0 over the centre of one pupil in one eye and take the measurement to the centre of the pupil in the other eye, If your eyes are very dark and the pupil cannot be seen clearly you can measure from the inner edge of the iris in one eye to the outer edge of the iris in the other eye (see diagram above). If you are still unsure we can use the average which is 63mm. Only one measurement is necessary any adjustments needed for reading or bifocal glasses wil be made by us. Please type your measurement in the box provided. |
